Community Support Staff

Walter B. Jones, BA, Community Support Specialist

Walter Jones.jpg

Walter serves as a Community Support Specialist in the Jacksonville, Florida community and has worked with The Bindu Institute since June of 2022.  He obtained an associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from Keiser University and a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with concentration in Human Services from the University of Phoenix.

He served in the US Army for 8 years as Chaplains Assistant, Fuel Handler, and Heavy-Duty Arms Specialist.  Walter relates well with other veterans being prior military and has faced similar challenges as a disabled veteran himself.  He pushed himself through college while facing everyday triggers.  Additionally, he has worked as a Fitness Coach at Classical Cornerstone Academy, and he recently worked as a camp counselor/mentor for at risk boys and teens over the summer 2022.

Walter believes his experience as a soldier and Occupational Therapy Assistant can greatly contribute to the success of any warrior seeking his guidance.  He is a combat veteran but most importantly he is a loving father of two sons.  In his spare time, he coaches little league football in which he has taken the mantle of mentor to many children.  When not mentoring or playing catch with his boys, he loves a good marvel movie or binge watching a show on Netflix.
