Melanie Adair Lavin is a Register Mental Health Counseling Intern. She joined the Bindu team in July of 2023.  She completed her undergraduate degree in 1996 in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire.  She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue University in Nebraska.

Melanie is a Military spouse who relocated to the area from Riverview, Florida in July of 2023 where she was working on her internship hours in a private practice setting. Melanie works with adults, adolescents, children, and couples. Melanie has experience providing treatment to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety and other mood disorders, relationship issues, grief and loss, PTSD, trauma and for those requiring self-esteem building, stress management and life transitions.

Melanie is practiced in Emotion Focused Therapy, with trainings in Emotion Focused Individual Therapy and Gottman couple’s work. Melanie focuses on a collaborative approach to treatment that includes attachment focused, trauma informed, cognitive behavioral, person-centered and emotion-focused interventions that support you on your journey toward healing and change. Melanie is committed to working with you in a safe, compassionate, and sensitive manner.
