April King, M.Ed., Community Support Specialist

April works as a Community Support Specialist in Jacksonville, Florida and has been with the company since July of 2023.  She earned a Bachelor of Art in Education degree from the University of North Florida in Special Education (Specific Learning Disabilities) and a master’s in education from the University of Texas at Austin in Special Education (Medical-Educational Models in Birth-6yo population).  In addition, she studied Traumatic Stress Studies with Bessel van der Kolk, M.D. from PESI.  She is currently working on a master’s in social work (MSW) program full-time.

 

She has experience in a variety of careers to include working as a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (creating safe, livable homes for variety of ability and aging challenges), Special Educator (great task analyzer), and as a Professional Organizer (organizing homes and small offices).  She has a broad array of skills she shares with the warriors she works with such as active listening, organizing, planning, and implementing.  Her previous educational and professional experiences have allowed her the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the people she works with who have various challenges and abilities.

 

April is a lifelong learner.  She truly enjoys supporting people and organizations in defining and achieving their own success. She enjoys being in nature, laughing, and exploring.
