Jackson Root, BS

Jackson Root has worked as a Life Skills Coach in Tallahassee, FL since July 2025. He graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Political Science. Recognized for academic excellence as a Summa Cum Laude honoree and recipient of the President’s List distinction, Jackson was selected by the Florida Speaker of the House’s Chief of Staff to lead a mock legislative session at the State Capitol in recognition of outstanding legislative analysis.

He is currently a recipient of the U.S. Department of State’s prestigious Critical Language Scholarship, an immersive Arabic program at Alexandria University in Egypt, where he is projected to reach Novice-High proficiency within three months.

Jackson brings diverse experience across government, nonprofit, and campaign work. He previously served in the office of U.S. Representative Ted Deutch, where he conducted policy research, drafted memos on pressing healthcare issues, and contributed to debate preparation on H.R. 1808, The Assault Weapons Ban. His legislative background also includes service with State Representative Dan Daley, where he wrote constituent newsletters, prepared committee briefings, and supported community outreach during legislative sessions and election cycles.

In the nonprofit sector, Jackson worked with Goodwill Industries of the Big Bend, securing grant funding, organizing community drives that collected thousands of pounds of clothing, and supporting workforce inclusion through translation resources and employment advocacy. His experience with the State Attorney’s Office for Florida’s 2nd Judicial Circuit provided him with direct exposure to the criminal justice system, including analyzing prison phone recordings and assisting with subpoenas.

Jackson has also been active in political campaigns across South Florida, completing over 6,000 voter outreach calls and canvassing hundreds of homes to support candidates for state and local office.

With a strong foundation in policy, research, and community engagement, Jackson is committed to advancing public service through effective legislation, civic involvement, and international understanding.
